Religious Literacy in Development Cooperation

Publicatiedatum: 16/04/2019

There is renewed interest in the role of religion and faith-based organizations in development cooperation. Civic Engagnement Alliance published an brochure about the topic.

Religion is back on the agenda, there is a growing interest in its role of achieving the SDGs, at the same time there is a lack of knowledge on the concrete input that religious actors offer to help create just, participatory, and resilient societies. The brochure underlines the need ot enhancing religious literacy, describes the strengths of faith-based organizations and explains how they can play a role in handling religion in development cooperation. Cases from Ethiopia, Indonesia an Kenya illustrate their added value in a local context.
