Moving Toward a Responsible Tea Sector in Assam

In order to address the problematic of the difficult living and working conditions of small tea producers and non respect of labor rights, Civic Engagement Alliance started a program on responsible business in Assam. Alliance members ICCO Cooperation, Kerk in Actie, Light for the World and Wilde Ganzen cooperate with Indian partners Sewa and Save the Children. By promoting responsible business behavior among Assam’s small tea growers the Alliance wants to move this large private sector towards sustainability.

The program in Assam is part of a broader Alliance program in India, strengthening voices and capacities of civil society organizations.
