National consultation on enabling environment

Publicatiedatum: 27/07/2017

In New Delhi a meeting was organized to build the capacities of VANI and voluntary organisations.

The voluntary sector has been facing problems in different ways on the current streamlining of rules and guidelines regarding voluntary organizations.

Grass root civil society organizations are majorly affected by this scenario and have had a difficult time in operations. There is a systematic false narrative propagated on social media platforms that voluntary organizations are rule flouting, fly by night entities.

The National Consultation was weaved around the guidelines and procedures of the voluntary sector. The main discussion of the meeting was to build the capacities of VANI as VANI is a self-regulatory body for putting the case of voluntary organisations in matter of rules and procedures in the Supreme Court. VANI would also do resource mobilization form local sources for national advocacy along with investing in leadership to implement best practices and innovations.
